So anyway, it turns out Canon is a very secretive bastard of a company, so I won't be scanning until I can get a scanner that has a working driver for linux and SANE. On the other hand, I have a treasure trove of pictures I dug up out of some notebooks from these last few school years. I literally had to dig them out of the trash (which I just remembered that I need to take out). Yep, someone thought that they were leftovers from a previous exchange student and didn't give them another look before tossing the lot of them in the dumpster.
